Jill Hinson, a fully certified STOTT PILATES® Instructor, Pilates Method Alliance certified, and Cancer Exercise Specialist, is the owner of Core Studio Pilates and Yoga, and is proud serve as Executive Director of Core Compassion Project. Jill founded the nonprofit when her very first client let her know she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. In search of how to help this client, Jill spent many hours studying the effects of breast cancer on the body, and knew that Pilates would provide much needed assistance in bringing survivors back to optimal health.
Jill also knew that, due to the expense of medical bills, many women who needed Pilates could not afford private specialized training . In pursuit of providing a way to help her clients, Jill felt a calling to start a nonprofit organization to provide postrehab Pilates scholarships to women in need of rehabilitation. This led to the birth of Core Compassion Project.
Jill graduated Cum Laude from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dance Education. At age eleven she was a patient at the Shriners Hospital for Children® in Greenville, SC. Her chronic hip pain experience with unknown diagnosis has driven Jill to work to understand how the body moves and the importance of core strength. In 2013, Jill began HEALTHY PLEASE, a lifestyle blog based on Pilates, gardening and living healthy. Jill has been featured in SHAPE and Pilates Style Magazines.
